Rowan Radio Honored In CBI Student Production Awards Competition

Two Rowan Radio entries garnered finalist honors in the 2011 College Broadcasters Inc. Student Production Awards competition.

Rowan graduate Adam Dobrowolski received finalist recognition in the Best Sports Play-By-Play category for his call of Rowan University men’s basketball versus New Jersey City University in the opening round of the 2011 New Jersey Athletic Conference tournament.

A former WGLS sports director, Dobrowolski is the studio host of the Rocks Report, a 30-minute pregame show preceding all Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball games broadcasted on WGLS-FM.

Rowan Radio also placed as a finalist in the Best Community Involvement category for the station’s work at Harrison Township Day in Mullica Hill, New Jersey during May 2010.

Throughout the day-long festivities, the Rowan Radio staff conducted a series of interviews with celebrity judges preceding the day’s keystone event, Harrison Idol, a signing competition displaying local talent.

The awards will be presented at the CBI National Student Production Awards program on Friday, October 28 in Orlando, Florida.
