11893867_10153411216844219_4704756924852988136_oIt’s time to catch up with members of the 2015-16 WGLS-FM Executive Staff in the latest installment of Five Questions With…

Rowan Radio News Director Matthew Zawodniak is up next.

1.) What’s your favorite Rowan Radio memory?

MZ: The first time someone called the station to ask what song had just played. I hear all the time how many people listen to us, but getting some tangible confirmation was pretty exhilerating.

2.) Why did you get involved with the station?

MZ: I had just decided to leave the school of business and join the RTF program, and the very same day a friend who worked at the station introduced me to Derek and showed me around. I went through training that summer.

3.) If you could attend one major event, past, present, or future, what would it be?

EO

Actress Elizabeth Olsen.

MZ: Opening day at the Disney World Star Wars park.

4.) Who would play you in a movie about your life?

MZ: Elizabeth Olsen. Some creative liberties would be taken.

5.) If you could have dinner with one person dead or alive, who would it be?

MZ: Satoru Iwata, the late CEO of Nintendo Co. Ltd. Iwata was a game developer first and a company president second, and never hesitated to step in and personally help a struggling project, and he would (and did) cut his own salary before laying off any of his staff during tough financial times. He was an amazing man, and I’ll always wish I could’ve met him.

Matthew Zawodniak hosts The Rowan Report with Assistant News Director Geneva Gerwitz every Tuesday at 5 p.m. Also, he hosts a daytime music program each Wednesday morning from 9 to 11. You can tune in on 89.7 or at wgls.rowan.edu.
