Sue Shilling (’93) and Rob Strauss (’99) will be the latest inductees to the WGLS-FM Hall of Fame as a part of Rowan Radio’s annual banquet on Thursday, April 23 at Scotland Run Golf Club in Williamstown, New Jersey.

Shilling is a broadcasting veteran in the Delaware Valley area for over 20 years. Currently, Shilling is a sports update anchor at Sportsradio 94WIP and KYW Newsradio 1060.

Also, she hosts a weekly radio show at WNJC-AM 1360 in New Jersey called “Everything Special Needs” – a program for the special needs community.

Along with her broadcasting ties, education continues to be an important part of Shilling’s life. She is an adjunct instructor at Mercer County College, where she teaches Introduction to Radio.

While at WGLS-FM, Shilling was the first female to ever broadcast a Rowan Baseball game. Also, she provided play-by-play announcing and color analyst duties for Profs sports and handled sports updates on the Early Bird Special.

Meanwhile, Rob Strauss – a Class of 1999 graduate from Rowan University’s Radio/TV/Film program – hosted music and sports shows during his time as a student at WGLS-FM.

After becoming a Radio Broadcasting teacher at Sterling High School in 2006, Strauss founded “Sterling High School Radio,” a streaming online station, four years later. The station airs community events including Camden Riversharks Baseball, Toys for Tots Drives, and high school sports coverage.

A frequent contributor to WGLS-FM’s award-winning sports department as a Rowan student, Strauss was an in-studio producer for Rowan University Football including hosting halftime and postgame shows.

Since graduating from Rowan, Strauss continues to host classic rock programs on WGLS-FM each summer.

Shilling and Strauss become the 36th and 37th members of the WGLS-FM Hall of Fame, which was established in 2005.

The WGLS-FM Hall of Fame honors Glassboro State/Rowan graduates, who have been long-term supporters of the station and Rowan University.
