Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM received two Communicator Awards from The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts for production and programming on Wednesday.
“Online Dating: There’s an App for That?“ garnered an Award of Distinction in the Programs category of the Communicator Awards.
The 30-minute documentary on the booming online dating business, produced by Ellen Hardy and Alyssa Sansone, earned its second accolade in as many weeks.
Last week, the Garden State Journalists Association awards competition recognized the program, which was produced during the Radio Production class of WGLS-FM Interim Station Manager Derek Jones.
Meanwhile, “Rowan Radio On Instagram” also received an Award of Distinction for production and editing.
Produced by former Rowan Radio Production Director Landon Jones, the 30-second promotional announcement promoted the station’s new Instagram account.
The energetic promo also featured narration work from Hardy and fellow station member Rachel White.
The 20th annual Communicator Awards pay tribute to best in audio, video, online media, advertising, and marketing in its international competition.
Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM enters its 50th year of broadcasting and has won 238 regional and national awards.
