Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM received a national finalist nomination for Radio Station of the Year from College Media Association in the organization’s 2013 Pinnacle Awards competition.
The nominated entry spotlighted WGLS-FM’s reporting and community work at Harrison Township Day in Mullica Hill, NJ last May; a feature on a woman’s journey from Tokyo to Delaware to see entertainer Ted Neeley; and Heroin High, a documentary focusing on the drug culture in South Jersey high schools.
WGLS-FM joins Radio DePaul (DePaul University) and KZLX-FM (Northwest Missouri State University) as finalists in the category.
The Pinnacle Awards, which honors the best in college media, are judged by leading national journalists and media professionals.
The winner will be announced during October’s ACP/CMA National College Media Convention in New Orleans.
