Heroin High, a documentary about drug culture in South Jersey high schools, was nominated as a finalist in the College Broadcasters Incorporated Student Production Awards competition on Thursday.
The program earned national finalist recognition in the Best Documentary category of CBI’s annual student awards competition.
This is the fourth award for the 30-minute documentary produced by Joe Mineo, Allie Volpe, and Robert Zettlemoyer in conjunction with WGLS-FM Interim Station Manager Derek Jones’ Radio Production class.
Previously, Heroin High won first place from the Garden State Journalists Association competition in its Best Radio Feature category last month.
Produced in late 2012, Heroin High also earned kudos from the Philadelphia Press Association and Communicator Awards earlier this year.
The entire list of finalists for the annual College Broadcasters Incorporated is expected to be released by September 6.
